When you are in a place where you have decided that you want to start making your own teas at home, the first thing that you are going to need is a high quality stainless steel coffee kettle. It does not really matter which type of kettle that you end up selecting, as long as it has built in steaming capabilities, so that your tea will remain steamed for the exact amount of time that you would like. Many people do not understand the amount of time that it takes for a cup of tea to become truly ready, especially when they are used to having a regular coffee kettle that comes with a warming plate. If you do not have this type of warming plate that is built into your kettle, you are going to have to place your kettle over a burner or a stove in order for it to heat up to the proper temperature, and this can take quite a while. If you are new to making your own teas or have never even touched a coffee pot in your life, you are going to find that it can be very complicated to get everything to go the way that you would like it to without breaking anything.
Once you have your stainless steel drip kettle, you will also need a device for pouring hot water from the top of the kettle into the teapot so that it can be drunk. This device will usually be a drip ring, or something similar, but many people do not realize the importance of having this. The reason that you need this is because many people are not very good tea drinkers, and they always seem to drink their tea too quickly or too cold. If you are used to drinking your tea warm, then you will find that if you ever drink it too cold, it can actually make you sick!
One other item that you might want to include in your home tea making kit is a strainer, or a strainer that is not coffee making kettle. You can use these in order to separate the loose leaves and buds from the actual tea leaves. This is very important, because many people will use these for brewing stronger teas, and you will want to make sure that they are sturdy enough to handle this. It will take a little bit of work, but you will be glad that you took the time to add all of these necessary pieces to your home tea kettles.
